Zoo

Who doesn’t love the zoo?  The great thing about the zoo is that it’s so fun that you often don’t realize that it’s educational as well.  When you go, make sure to read all the plaques with information over each animal.  You can even attend the free demonstrations where experts show and discuss exotic animals.

Museum

Museums are a great way to learn about different things.  To find the right one, research different museums near you and have your child choose the one that they’re most interested in.  Many times, museums also have activities for children so that they can participate while also learning.

Planetarium

Planetariums are theatres that are built primarily for presenting educational and interesting shows about astronomy and the night sky.  It also has a large dome-shaped projection screen which displays the stars, planets, and other celestial objects.

Nature Walk

Don’t underestimate the cool things that you can find on a walk through the park.  On this walk, you and your child can collect leaves, identify different trees and flowers, and look for animal tracks.

Caves

Depending on where you live, you may be able to tour a cave near you.  On this tour, you’ll be informed on how the cave was formed, crystals and rocks that can be found there, and different animals that live there.
