In addition to homeschooling their children the Smiths also hold full time jobs. Jackie Smith is deputy clerk of court in Terrell County and George is a corrections officer. Because of those time constraints they split shifts with the four children they have at home.
Although’s George looks at homeschooling his children from the viewpoint of a father, he also has an educator’s perspective having spent 11 years teaching high school in the Maryland public school system, before also teaching at St. Teresa’s Catholic School for two years after moving to Albany.
It is clear that not only in the United States but throughout the world the type of people that choose homeschooling are uncategorized. It isn´t important whether you are rich, poor, lower-class or upper-class, the system is available to everyone and is proving to be successful for the majority.
